When Tom Witzky (Kevin Bacon), who is a skeptic of supernatural things and hypnosis, is hypnotized by his sister in law he begins to experience some strange and unnatural visions. After the hypnosis he has a vision of a ghostly girl in his living room, as the visions persist he discovers that the girl is Samantha Kozac (Jennifer Morrison), who disappeared about six months prior. Though he started out not believing he quickly begins to get more and more interested in what is going on in these visions even to the point of having trouble with his wife Maggie (Kathryn Erbe). As the visions and Tom's own efforts begin to unravel the mystery of what happened to Samantha he tries to solve it and see if he can make things right for himself and Samantha.
